Dr. Diana Hewitt is a 1982 graduate of Auburn University. She started in a small animal practice in Chesapeake where she met her husband and after 4 years there became an associate vet at Kempsville Veterinary Hospital. She has always loved working with animals especially dogs and cats. Going to work every day you learn to expect the unexpected and to be flexible.
Veterinary medicine has provided her with endless challenges both exciting and different. Foolishly, I thought I needed to retire and sis so in the summer of 2020. Lasting only 8 weeks, I went back to work part-time in the height of COVID. It is a career that has provided me with amazing experience.
Her greatest achievements have been raising two bright and caring daughters who have followed their father into education as teachers. In her free time she enjoys gardening and working in the yard as well as entertaining her two labs and dog sitting her daughter’s young lab.
