Did you know that many everyday household items can be dangerous for your furry friends? Accidental poisoning is one of the most common pet emergencies, but knowing what to keep out of reach can help prevent a trip to the vet!
Here are some common household toxins to watch out for:
🛑 Foods – Chocolate, grapes/raisins, onions, garlic, xylitol (found in sugar-free gum & peanut butter), caffeine, alcohol
🛑 Medications – Over-the-counter pain relievers (ibuprofen, acetaminophen), antidepressants, ADHD medications, and even some pet medications if given incorrectly
🛑 Plants – Lilies (toxic to cats!), sago palm, aloe, tulips, and philodendrons
🛑 Household Products – Cleaning supplies, antifreeze, rodenticides, and essential oils (especially tea tree oil)
🛑 Human Products – Hair dye, nicotine products, vitamins (especially iron and vitamin D), and some cosmetics

Prevention is key! Keep these items out of paws’ reach and share this post to help keep pets safe! ❤️🐾
We recently upgraded our software to better serve you and your pets! 🐾 However, during the transition, some vaccine, annual exam, prevention, and treatment reminder dates may not have transferred correctly.
We are diligently working to update each and every pet’s chart with the correct information, but please note that it’s taking some time.
Our new system automatically sends texts and emails a month before your pet is due, so if you receive a reminder that seems off, don’t worry! We’re happy to double-check for you.
📧📞 Call us at 757-474-0507 or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about what your pet is due for.
Thank you for your patience and for trusting us with your pet’s care! ❤️🐶🐱
